TV review…because I couldn’t think of a better title!

I like to browse www.thebigfelafel.com from time to time. It’s a blog that gives fun tips on how to survive living in Israel. Granted I’m not Israeli but I like knowing things! Seriously, I think I have an inner Israeli in me…I just don’t think I’d survive living there personality wise. I’m not tough enough haha – someone will say the wrong thing to me and I’ll just overanalyze and freak out as Israelis are very blunt. They don’t play games which can either be a good thing or a bad thing.
So I went to the blog the other night, and the latest entry describes a popular television show in Israel that they recommend called Ramzor which means traffic light. It’s a 20 minute or so comedy sitcom about 3 best friends Amir, Itzko, and Hefer (seriously Israelis I think need to think about the names they choose – never knew Hefer was an actual name but it is but I guess it’s better than Moron or Nimrod!) who are childhood best friends now in their early 30’s. The show I think is pretty cool since the reason it’s called Ramzor is because each of the guys is in a different stage of their romantic relationships: Itzko is red because he’s married to Lilach and has a daughter name Danielle who is 7 (the little girl cracks me up: “fine you don’t want to tell me what it means? I’ll just search Google!”), Amir is yellow as he just moved in with his girlfriend Tali and she’s got him whipped (“Miri, can you put some toothpaste on my brush for me?” And finally green for Hefer as he’s single and looking and will go to any extent to get the girl (like lying and saying Danielle is his and getting Itzko in trouble with the cops as the woman Hefer is dating thinks Itzko is a pervert for paying attention to Danielle).
I’m quite amused in the 3 episodes I’ve watched porn, kinks, homosexuality, and nude pictures on phones have been addressed! I don’t however understand everything they say so it’s been a learning experience for me to be able to pick up new words and phrases! Downside also is trying to watch the show and dealing with the fact that video quality sucks and the picture doesn’t match up with the words but it hasn’t deterred me to my surprise lol.
I’m really excited now because Fox bought the rights to this show and are making an American version of this show that will premiere this fall called Mixed Signals and Adir Miller (who plays Amir) will be involved in directing if I’m not mistaking. I just hope the American version is as good!
