About a Girl

The girl with wonderlust: Hillary but she goes by Hillz, Hilly, Hill, Dabu, Doofus, or whatever else you can think of. She is a 24 year old Virgo and livejournal addict and newcomer to the world of owning her own domain who has been chronicling her life online since she was 16. She graduated in 2007 from UMBC with a B.A. in Psychology and recieved her M.S. in Psychology in 2010 from the University of Phoenix. Don’t knock it until you try it. She’s currently trying to figure what her next step in life is. She wears several hats at the current moment: behavioral therapist, 4th/5th grade Assistant Teacher, and starting in the fall, 1st grade Hebrew Teacher. If you haven’t guessed by the mention of her jobs, she is bilingual and proud of it. She has been in a long-distance relationship now for 3 years with her doofuslove who lives in PA. They’ve had a rocky road to get to where they are but she wouldn’t change a minute of it for the world. Her best friends are her sisters and she would do anything in the world for them. Romance novels are love as well as driving fast and late night talks with friends. She may deal with doubts a lot but life goes on. She is loved.

My beliefs.
These are my beliefs. Please respect them and I will respect yours.

  • Jewish. However I do not define myself by any group. I’m simply Jewish. Why? Theoretically I’m Orthodox. I grew up going to an orthodox school so that is still somewhat ingrained in me. In practice I fall between Reform and Conservative. I work for a Reform synagogue. I’ve pretty much adopted practices across the different branches. It’s much easier to say I’m Jewish and leave it at that.
  • Pro-choice. I may not choose to have an abortion myself however I support your right to do so.
  • Anti-capital punishment. I do not believe in it. It’s a barbaric practice that to me serves no purpose and is an easy way for the killer not to suffer. I’d rather see someone sit for the rest of their lives and be trapped in jail living half an existence.
  • Pro-Israel. I support with a full heart Israel’s right to existence.
  • Democrat. I’m pretty liberal.
